As part of the wonderful St Boswells Village Week, the Cricket Club are running two events in 2012. The traditional Rounders and BBQ, on Sunday 10th June from 6pm, is the last event of the week and a great chance for a good game and a recuperative drink in the bar (usually for the organisers of Village Week!) Come along and, whatever the weather, there will be a few games of rounders between scratch sides of rank amateurs, and maybe even a prize for the winning team!
New to Village Week, and distinct from our Trade Sixes (August 19th) is the St Boswells Village Sixes. This is taking place on Sunday 3rd June from 12 noon, when anyone who fancies a fun and exciting game of cricket can register to play, for free. If you already have a team (of 6 players, hence the name) then just come along as a group; if not then we will make up teams of players, and include an experienced club player in each team.
Each match is 5 overs, with every player apart from the wicket-keeper taking an over. Wild hitting and acrobatic diving is encouraged. We will supply all the equipment you need, including softer balls to make the game a bit safer for younger players. The tournament will be played in two pools of teams, with a final played between the winners of each group.
See you at our events, and don’t forget your BBQ money 🙂
